Texas Debt Law

Courts, hearings and trial

What are requests for admissions, and why are they dangerous?

Short answer

They're written statements the plaintiff asks you to admit or deny, such as 'You owe $4,512.' In county and district court, if you don't respond within 30 days after service, they can be deemed admitted, which can be enough for the plaintiff to win. Always respond on time.
