Answering the lawsuit and deadlines

What is a general denial?

Short answer

A general denial is a short statement that you deny the plaintiff's claims and require them to prove each one. Texas allows it, and it makes the plaintiff prove its case. Some defenses, though, such as the statute of limitations, must be raised separately, and some matters must be denied under oath.
